View Full Version : Can the new Plextor do SafeDisc 2?
Hello there people...
I would like to know if the new Plex 401240, can do the SD2 protection. I know the previous model can but I do not know about this one.
BTW, there use to be a nice chart on the ElaborateBytes (CloneCD) web site with a comprehensive list of burners and their burning abilities. Anyone know where has it disappeared??
Thanks,
LIOR;)
The new plex's cannot copy the latest safedisk2.5, none of them can make 1:1 copies.

I'm sure the list is still there - but if it isn't, then start up Clone CD, and open the Help. Then click on supported writers - there it is.

With my 2410A, I have never had a problem. I have even backed up MOHAA and IL-2

I had no problems with a Plextor 2410A using the following setting.
Read
Speed Max
Fast Error Skip enabled
Fast Error Skip settings
0
Software
Write
8x
Write Mode: RAW DAO
Buffer Underrun Protection checked
Always close last Session checked
Firmware 1.02 & 1.03
I was able to play them in my sony 16x dvd player and in my two plextor cd burners using the "Hide Cd Media" in CloneCD

if he did, he would be the first person on this forum AND cd freaks to have done so.
Hi there,
I would like to know this thing please if someone can tell me.
Regarding the supported writers by CloneCD, I did not mean that exactly. In the ElaborateBytes web site there used to be a chart organized alphabetically by brand name, and in that chart there were details about many models of writers and their abilities, DAO, RAW, SAO, Correct EMF bit pattern and such, this is what I am looking for.
BTW, How did that guy put READ at *MAX* and succeeded in readin the disc right?? And it is SD 2.5?
WOW... wish I could do that... :-)
