am i to the believing, that if i use cloneCD to backup a EA game, that i dont need the patches???

depends on your modchip, if using a usb mod you will have to patch some titles no matter what software is used.

You will save yourself heaps of trouble if you switch to an 8 wire or higher modchip and use CloneCD. I promise (doing it all properly, of course).

a new mod isnt really in my price range at the moment

if i cant find a patch for my game, does that mean it doesnt need one...or does that mean im screwed?

off those 2 sites, all i could find was...

PAL 2 NTSC patch...which was the same as what i found on megagames....

is this right?

what game are you trying to back up ???? you want the ea swap fix patch. look under EA patches on the left side of the home page at http://www.ps2ownz.com/

I've tried to play a backup of this game. It doesn't play. I was wondering if I need a patch to play it using S/M 3.3. FIFA 2005 works fine on the swap method without a patch. I've looked on GAMEFREAX there's no patch on there.
