Looking to do the old PAL - to - NTSC.

Any help would be appreciated.

I d/l'ed the only Pro Evolution Soccer patch I could find from GCW, it claimed to do PAL-2-NTSC, but when I tried to use PPF I got both of the errors:

File size doesn't match
File doesn't match

Any ideas for help? Has anyone been able to do a successful patch of this game?

Last question: do you patch the .cue file, the .bin file (after using CDRWin) or both?

Thanks.

Purple Cowboy,
get on your horse and trot of down to
HTTP://WWW.PLAYSTATION-PATCHES.COM/
Look under {I} obviously and sling your lassoo around your desired patch.
There's uk pal and ntsc to be roped in, and some other goodies to be had in the uttilities section.
Let us know how you go on,
this site could be on a lot of peoples most wanted list.

patch the bin file. I used PPF-o-matic.

Just ordered the game from a chap in London, backed it up, patched it, works beauty.

Great game, hope you get it going.

I just saw your replies, I had resigned myself to having had wasted close to $70. I'll have to try it tonight when I get home from work.

The patch I found from GCW gave me both of the error messages when I used win to copy the game to my HD & then PPF-o-Matic to apply the patch.

But hopefully this one will work!

I don't see a patch for "Pro Evolution Soccer" just "Pro Evolution," "Pro Evolution 1" or "Pro Evolution 2."

fatay - how did you get it to work?

I got the patch here:

http://www.megagames.com/ps2/ps2_patches_p.shtml

the "Pro Evolution Soccer PAL-2-NTSC Patch"

beware, however, that due to the scanning differences between PAL & NTSC, you will lose the bottom ~15% of your screen. Not terrible, but makes it tougher, as you can't see the player names (who has the ball), or the power meter.

I'm waiting for Winning Eleven 6, won't have PAL issues, will just need to patch to English.

still worth it, imho. good luck

Oh well, I'll try tonight & see what happens.

oh, uh, sorry, i assumed it was chipped.

yes, you have to in order to play backups.

I went with the usb modcube, pretty simple mod, only one jumper wire, 2 solder points. Also have to get the GameShark2.

All in all, just to play PES, ~$100. And you have the screen problem. Wish they had some sort of screen centering tool in the game.

Same thing will apply to Winning Eleven 6, you'll need to back the game up in order to play. Get the chip, it's worth it.
