Hey fellaz...
I FINALLY got my usbmod to work (opened it up and resoldered it). I have a US 30001 v4 PS2, with the external usbmod. I can boot my cd-r backups, I know those work, but is it really possible to play DVDr backups??? I've read some things online about "holding" the power button and all that, but whenever I let go, the tray doesn't eject? I also read that you need a game with a bigger TOC than the b-up. I have GTA3 (and I read somewhere that it has one of the biggest TOCs for ps2?). Can someone please let me know if / how I can boot these bad boys up??? Thanx guys....

but one thing is for sure u need to have a game shark older version

Liqwidist, To play dvd-r backups with a USB mod you will need a GS2 v 1.9 or 1.93. You also will have to do the card swap or cog,knife method for the final swap. I had a usb mod but didnt like taking the tray cover off and sticking a plastic knife in it to make the tray eject (which is what you are going to have to do)so i ditched it for a X-key dvd chip and a r-mod. Anyway if you still want to try this here's how, do so at your own risk!!. Load GS2, when completely loaded turn on chip, select start game, press eject, swap GS2 with original dvd game, I use DOA2, select without codes, wait about 15 sec then preform cog,knife method to swap original dvd with dvd-r backup,push tray back in and press o+r1, Game will load....There are alot of modchips that will boot dvd-r backups on a v4. You may want to invest in one. Good luck:)
