Hi all..m8.
In the last hours i've been investigating in some tech forums and have discovered that the new safedisc (serious sam SE and MOOH) can be copied with plextor 2410a.The trick consist no in how to write it.......so the way how to read it is the most important!!!!
As i 've readed if you read with a toshiba dvd-rom for example you can read at max speed..but if you read with your plextor for example u will need to read at minor speed than usual...4x is just a point to start with.Writing should not be a problem but 12x is advised.
I heard one did it reading at 4x and writting to 12x....i must probe it myself!

Good luck!

Has it worked for you? I read about it as well, and tried it out with Serious Sam SE, I read at 4X in my Plex24, burned at 10X on 24X media, but it didn't work for me. The only way I've got my Plex to make a 1:1 copy of this is using Betablocker.

Has ne1 else had ne success? Do you think a firmware upgrade in the future from Plextor will fix it? Hope so

Personally, I'm thinking (read: hoping) that all it will take is for Olli to release a newer version of CloneCD to handle it !!!

That's cool.. Now we can add one to the few on the list that can handle that...

The Plextor 24X cannot burn SD 2.51.021 as of yet without some sort of assistance. I can burn a copy, use AWS and the new Betablocker, but then I'm forced to use it on my Plextor Drive with Hide CDR selected...which isn't good enough. If I need a crack, betablocker or Hide CDR media it isn't a 1:1. Like in the post above, Ollie will get us something (hopefully soon) that will do the job. In the mean time I just ordered a LiteOn LTD-163 and will try using it for the read and use my Plexi for the Write...I will post the results the second my drive arrives...hopefully Wednesday...I paid for FedEx 3 day which really means about a week :)

Had the same problem then found out that if you use the new modified Betablocker then you must not use AWS. When I tried this it worked in all drives (with Hide CDR Media of course). I know it isn't great having to use Betablocker with the Plex, but hofefully a f/w update will sort this so the Plex24 users don't have to use AWS or Betablocker.
Hopefully

beitnot: I'm surprised you managed to do this as your Plex 16x doesn't support EFM (see CloneCd help file)

I don't think Betablocker or AWS was intended to be used by EFM supported writer like the 24x Plex and LiteOn 24x etc. So far the new Betablocker hasn't achieved anything. I'm sure that Ollie will come up with a "LiteOn AWS" option soon as a method to reliably burn backups on all (raw-dao-96) writers.

Well it has really cos the new version of SD2 (2.51.021) cannot be copied by the Plex24X in most cases, when I used the new version of Betablocker it worked.

Although I do agree that burners capable of correct EFM c####g shouldn't need AWS or Betablocker - but this new version is SD2 is running my Plex into the ground sadly.

"A Lite-ON AWS" It kills me to say it but the Lite-On doesn't need any form of help in making perfect backups of all SD2 games.

If you use the AWS option with a plextor 24x to copy a safedisc2 2.51 game with Clonecd, then to play the cd copied you need a crack?? Or not?
And with Betablocker?

Thanks

Excuse me for being new to this but what is Betablocker and where could I find it?

Thanks in advance...

The AWS doesn't work with the new SD2.51 (it will be updated by Olli soon I'm sure). The new Betablocker works. When you use the new Betablocker with the Plex24X the game will work in all CD-drives (with Hide-CDR Media ticked if ur playin it in a burner).
