Help i am having trouble playing a few recorded cds on my sony Hifi. The weird thing is that some work and the the others dont. Does any one have any ideas?

Sometimes it helps to record at single speed.
Also high quality cd-r media (for audio) could help.

I beleive audio-only cd's can only be recorded at 4x max, right? I found this when I used some Traxdata one's.
Also, do you get these inconsistent results with different types of media - some working, some not? Or is it just with certain brands of cd-r?
All the best :-)
The problem more often then not resides with the audio player. I record above speeds of 4x with audio compilations with no problems and i use unbranded cheap blank media. Make sure you finalise your disc when burning (conventional players will only recognise the last session burnt on to disc, if it recognises a sessioned disc in the first place that is). What burning software are you using? this can make a difference. Slowing your burn speed down does help and unbranded media tends to do the same job as branded (it probably just wont last as long). Also make sure your not shovin a cd-rw in the player cause it definitley aint gonna play it dude!
