Is there anybody who can help me out ??

I am trying to do a backup of my Red Faction (ger) CDs WITHOUT CloneCD. The detection tool tells me, that the CD has got ProtectCD Protection and Bad Sectors. To make it short: I can't copy the first disc. Any clues anybody ??

(Copying the stuff to HD doesn't work either)

try blindwrite (www.blindwrite.com) or disc juggler (www.padus.com).
blindwrite will certainly do the job, not very sure about disc juggler. but you can try.... ;)

btw: why not clone cd? burner not compatible?

How can I copy the files of CD1 to HD (and toast them?)

Cause there are fake files >1 GB...
