Diablo II LOD Slower

I have diablo II LOD v1.08
When i ####ted the expansion i noticed that the game is much slower than diablo II. Please help.

The system requirements for LoD are a little bit higher than D2. There's a lot of new stuff for it to keep in memory. There's the 800x600 res. There's all the new items and monsters. The new act has higher-quality graphics. Etc, etc.
