star craft update problem and need help on how copying it

i have star craft 1.041. (french)
i try to update it to version 1.07 but it says "wrong version,1.041"
i never heard of star craft update for french version,so i thought it was the same for all version (1.07)
but i didn't work :(

could someone explain to me how copying star craft and brood war??

i managed to make a backup copy of SC on 74 mn cd, with nero, i selected "data cd" and i choosed all the files from th cd to copy, except a file at the root of the cd called "STARFR.DAT" about 44Mo. i selected 1x speed when i decided to start the copy but i guess that it can work with a higher spped.
then i applied the 1.08b patch after having installed the game (from the copy i made) and after that use the "StarCraft: Brood War v1.08b [ALL] No-CD/Battle.NET Loader" that you'll find on the site.

I've got a question too, did someone managed to make a copy of broodwar ?

So you guy mean that you can't copy the starcraft broodwar cd ? I have copy Broodwar serveral time and its work out fine with me, just like the original Br Cd ... I use cloneCD when I copy ...
