In the process of getting a DVD burner, wanted some info on which ones work best. I have read all the posts I could find on the subject, but would like some fresh info for myself. SCSI or IDE? I am running a T-Bird 1.4ghz, 266mhz board with 786mb DDR SDRAM, GF3 TI 500, Acer 52x rom, Aopen 24x10x40 CDRW, so I should be able to handle whatever is out there. I have heard seen a lot of talk here about Plextor and Lite-on, just a little more suggestions b4 I make a decision. I plan on copying a lot of PS2 games with it so which one is best for that?
thx... FaTaL

Plextor makes a dvd-r burner? I have heard talk about it, but I have yet to see anything from Plextor on that one. As for SCSI Pioneer makes one but I would not go for it due to the exspense and the media it takes ( just DVD-R and not the 4.7r variety ), but the A03 in IDE rocks! ( yes I have one ). I would not go for the Hp due to the DVD+RW format ( and that's my preference ), and forgot any DVD / RAM drive combo ( Panasonic in SCI or IDE ), sure you get the DVD-R aspect, but it sure nice to have the RW aspect ( of DVD-R / DVD-RW ) as well to check your burn before you commit one to DVD-R
