hi all

i'm new to this back up thing
here's the story, i'm trying to back up my copy of the sims-hp
i'm using clonecd and perfect copy.

my cdrom and cdrw are the standard issue with compaq pressario 5ooo desktops

when clonecd starts the read it takes about 30 mins to read 1 percent of the disc. is this normal or am i doing something wrong

Personally I would find it hard to believe that Compaq would actually build a machine that has good quality reader/burner installed that would actually work with CloneCD.
Hate to say this but any generic product from makers such as Compaq, IBM, HP and many others are not very useable for anyone wishing to seriously backup their cds.
I would suggest that you first try and find out what make/model your reader/burner is and then ##### compatibility at Clone website.

try using CDRWIN and FIREBURNER to make copies of games .takes a bit longer than clone but work ace .

CDRWin and Fireburner CANNOT make backups of Safedisk 2 games!
