x-tension v2 patch: please help

Can smbdy please tell me what is wrong:I install everything like it has to be but i get messages something like: new version already exists...is something wrong with the patch or what?

The patch is NOT working... at least not the way it is intended to do.

The patch updates the original version 1.1 to the original version 2.0 - just like Egosofts own patches actually do.

It should have been able to update version 2.0 to a no-cd-version 2.0, but BOT-CK must have made a slight error there.

So we can only hope, that he might make a patch for the patch soon! :-)

The crack I got is from Class (Thx S.C.!)
It patches a freshly installed game just fine.

Unfortunately it doesn't address the no-rank increase protection which means you're stuck on rank harmless and can't trade with the Paranid and Split races (no docking computer and none of their ships!
Someone broke this one in an earlier 1.5 crack, but I've yet to see a fuly working V2 crack.

If you find one PLEASE let me know!

Well, that's sort of right.
The ship exploding thingie HAS been removed but it's only half the problem.

EGOSOFT put in an anti-cheating routine in one of the early patches.
As far as I recall it checks if the exe file was modified.

There's a ranking system in the game that sets your relation to other races.
You have to increase this rank (by blowing up pirates, mostly) to be able to land in the space stations belonging to two of the most important races, but the anti-cheat routine sets the ranking to 0 (harmless) and keeps it there.
(Actually I think it was made to stop people from creating super-spaceships, not as a copy-prot.)

This guy Stone-D has removed it but without removing the copy-prot.

You CAN play the game but about half of it will be missing if the anti-cheat isn't removed.

This is the reason why the sell such a big numer of games.

Anyone heard any news about a working Xtension V2 crack?
Do Class know that their crack isn't fully working?

After a clean install of X-Tension I still get an error patching the X-Tension.exe file when applying the Class patch.

Error message is as follows:
Applying MODIFY File Patch for 'x-tension.exe'
error ept0036: Old File not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match.

Both the 01.CAT and 01.DAT files patch ok, its just the exe Ver 1.1 English.

If someone has a working NO-CD version of 2.0 could they e-mail it to me? or better yet post it for everyone.

The new X-Tension v2.0 no-CD English/German patch by BugHunter doesn't work well too: after 10 minutes or so, the game says "self-destruction sequence initiated" when I try to land in any station. I've tried to go back to the v1.5 English Cracked but my last save game DOESN'T WORK WELL ANYMORE!!! (It says something about "save game file has been manipulated" and sends me to the main menu).

Be careful with this one, dudes... I think it should be nominated to the HARDEST GAME TO CRACK PROPERLY IN THE WHOLE HISTORY :(

I got hold of class's crack and applied it to x-tension v1.1 (cracked ver) and I've been playing it for a few hours now with no problems. Everything works including all ranks improving. The class crack has is NOT the 1 available from gcw but it is the same size, the file is xt20.ace. I tried the 1 from gcw and all it does is create an uncracked v2.0.
