Has anyone successfully copied C&C Red Alert with-out using cloneCD?

I tried backing up the game with cloneCD but I don't think my Samsung 6x4x24 is compatible, because it read for about 30 minutes and nothing happened.

If anyone could please give me some more ideas to try (including using patches) I would really appreciate it.

Thank you in advance,

Do the Game Index directions work for CD-Copy and do I also need to use the fixed.exe and/or keygen when doing the CD-Copy...

Could someone please let me know

Thanks

Since Clonecd doesn't work for you, you can also use Blindsuite (blindread/blindwrite). You may experience the same problems but it is worth a try. Also, did you try several versions of clonecd or only version 2.8.3.1? If you try an earlier version you may find that it works for you. I have also discovered that just because you have much longer read time doesn't necessarily mean its not working. Try using a revision that is 2 back.

I have only tried the version 2.8.3.1...

I will try that 2 back version of cloneCD to see if it works. A couple more questions though:

How long should I wait for the read to be done before I stop it (or how can I tell it is working)?

Have you heard of any Samsung CDRW working with cloneCD?

Thanks again Cybercop, and as always it is appreciated

Don't try new games with CloneCd. Burn them with Nero 5 and download a fixed exe, yours

Experience is Speaking!!!!!!!!

CloneCd (if your hardware will work) can copy ANY game New, Old, Used...etc...

Your answers:

If the read takes any longer than 1.5 hours I would stop it. A typical read under ideal conditions takes about 15 minutes and around 8 minutes for the write.

Why on Gods Green Earth would anyone want to copy a game and then use a "fixed.exe" to modify it and they write it to cd?? Just make a perfect copy to begin with!! Also, CloneCD DOES NOT WORK WITH EVERY CDWRITER!!!!!!!!!!

I followed the back-up cd instructions under the game index section of gamecopyworld and it works fine.
