Neo 2.2

So my ps2 has a neo 2.2 and i have dvdxregion. But my backup copy's don't work? Whats all this about patching? when you have the backup from the cd, i got the bin/cue file, so i need to patch the bin file? with? addzer0? or with a patch specially made for that game? ppf's? or just with ea patcher?? i tried to just burn the image onto a cd but that doesn't boot.. :(
