I have a feeling that somewhere in this board there is a post for this, but I couldn't quite find the answer.

I have backed up games before and they've worked. But I think they were non-dvd games (with black/purple bottoms) I've got a DVD game, and my PS2 is modded with a Neo2.2 from www.mod-chip.com. I use CloneCD and have a DVD-Rom drive. When I go to copy it (the same way I've done in the past) it slaps down some error, and it can't copy. I've also tried CDRWin, but no luck, also an error. How can I backup this game? Oh and another question, can I burn a DVD game onto a CD-R disc? Thanks in advance.

DVD games contain easily up to 4.7 GB of data, a standard cdr holds a max of 700 MB.
you can't copy them to cd without ripping out movies and music, and possibly even more.

Thanks for the imput. So I pretty much can't burn a DVD onto a CD-R, and cannot burn without a DVDRW drive. So just to backup a game, instead of being about a dime (for a blank cd) it has to be about $20+ for a DVD-R disc, and $300+ for a DVD-RW. So about $25 for a backup. Is this true, and is it worth it?

Only you can be the judge of that. But if DVD-Rs are £4 here they'll be around $5 or $6 in the USA. Don't know about Canada.
