Hello i have just got my ps2 back from the store where they put in a neo2.2 chip.
I also have the Region-X cd and a seperate cd to play American backups.

But i cannot play the backups because when i put in the Region-X cd and it boots up and i see on screen 1 2 3 4 5 6 , i press eject button en replace the cd with a backup and press start on my joypad, but nothing happens, i only see a black screen and nothing else.
Does anyone know what i am doing wrong and why doesen't my backups work??
I hope that someone can help me with this.
Thanks
Edwin

Hi buddy,i have a NEO 2.2 chip and a DVD region x to boot back-up cds.To load back-ups follow as mentioned below.
1. Insert DVD region x cd.
2. When 1 2 3 4 5 6 screen comes up,EJECT,take DVD region x cd out.
3. Insert back-up cd,press EJECT.
4. WAIT A COUPLE OF SECONDS AND PRESS START.

Hope this is any good for you.
P.S You have got a memory card in have you?

Cheers, Nutty.

If that doesn't work, then I'd suspect the chip installation. Pins 2 & 7 are the business pins here (I put the pinouts in a reply post a couple of days ago). They respectively send the Sony SCE signal 9the one that fools the PS2) and detects that the tray has closed (so that the PS2 region check can be inhibited).
