Help! Another Resident evil 3 question - please Help!

I've used both anti protection patches available on Megagames to patch a backup of resident evil 3. All patches go on OK, but when you boot the copy it freezes aftrer trainer at the violence screen. Any ideas? Could it be my chip? (Im using a ###ne with a OneChip). The original works fine.
