I need help backing up my PSX Games

I'm having trouble trying to back up my Playstation games. I've read all the tutorials and I've tried using every program available CDRWin, CloneCD, Nero, Hotburn.... but it keeps freezing on me when I try to save the image on disc. I have a stealth chip installed on my Playstation, so I don't think I need to patch my games....I have a EIDE 8x/8x/32x Ricoh CD-R/CD-RW RW7083A... Is there any kind of drivers or software or hardware that I need to get them up and running?

Oh btw, I've tried the method of copying the game files from the CD to harddrive, and back to a blank, but it doesn't work.

I'll leave this one for you t research more thoroughly, but I recall a previous discussion on this forum whereby it was advised to do something with the primary/secondary - master/slave arrangement of your EIDE channel on the PC. It strikes me that this would matter for straight CD copies but not if you staged it via the hard disk. But then if the hard disk is on the same channel as the CD-RW, you can run into problems depending on your PC, what else might be running and do on.

I think the guidance was that the CD-RW should not be on the same "side" of the EIDE bus as the hard disk or something like that. Antyway, search the forum or if you know what I'm half-talking about .......
