I hope you are aware that they will not selfboot, you'll have to swap with a AR2 or region X in order to get them to boot. a copy of the AR2 behaves the very same as a copy of a game.

I am aware of this I have both ar2 v1.3 and ar2 v2 and when I burn v1.7 the disc is full but I have no data on it

then you got a bad cdrwin crack or bad cdrwin keymaker.
a badly cracked cdrwin will destroy all burns you make with it.

...plus I've found CDRWin 4.0 to be unreliable so I regressed to 3.8G.

I burned the AR2/1.7 disk from the site and booted it with DVD Region X.

The Philips writer will be the problem. They are not fully compatible because, unlike Sony, (at least this is my reading), Philips don't want their product to be too easy to use for copying things!!

Anyway, send me your address by e-mail (link in my profile) and I'll send you a copy of AR2/1.7 that boots. Bear in mind please that I've tested it in the following way because I don't have a dongle:

SCPH 15000 (JAP)
OrigaChip to allow PAL originals to boot
DVD Region X (PAL original)
AR2/1.7 backup boots to can't find dongle message. So that's a GO to me.

Thanks a lot Charlie for replying my mail. =) NOw the only problem is I can burn ar 1.7 successfully but not with gs 1.9 file. Cdrwin can't read the gs cue sheet at all. It might be the file corrupted? Anyone has successfully burn gs1.9 If so where can i d/l the complete file?

For Ar1.7 after I completed make the backup disk, now the problem is I can't boot it with my gs 1.3. Is the only way to boot this Ar1.7 using dvd region x? Any suggestion please.

hehe, not really.. philips writers simply suck, THAT is the problem. they don't add anything more than what is needed to barely burn a normal cd.. philips are cheap crap.
