I have made about 5 backups now and yesterday my brother came over and played some with me, he then told me (we were playing Twisted Metal 4) that there should be music playing, the opening screen and video has music but once you actually ####t playing there is no music, further more if you puse the game and go down to music you can't hear anything my brother says you sould be able to hear music, i guess thats were you turn the volume up or down, well could somebody please tell me if its the burning process itself or is it my game enhancer? my brother says its my game enhancer but i would like to get everyones opionion. ps, this also happens with the game sled storm, the opening video works fine but when the ####t and options screen comes on you can't hear the music ####t to boot up then just dies off! hope someone can help me with this!!

Well there are a few different causes for this but i will deal with the two main one's.

1. It is possible that you are burning you games to quickly for the media to handle, i find the best speeds are 4x read and 2x write with CDRWin.

2. And probably the most common cause is that your PSX's laser needs tweaking, or re-aligninig. I have explained this many time's before on this forum so i wont wast my time with it again but if you care to take a look at ####://www.psxworkshop.com/basic.html there you will find FULL instructions on what to do

I would also recomend that you have an internal Mod Chip installed as many of the external gadgets cause no end of problems and this could also be causing the trouble that you have.

spooky thanks for replying , i use the 1xread/1x write think thats to slow, if so i will try the speeds you suggest! do you know if the psx x change Boot CD Works any better then the Game Enhancer?

The speeds that you use shouldnt cause any problems, its all down to the reliability of the burner, system and media that you are using although some people may argue this point.

As far as best performance is concerned between the x-change cd and a game enhancer then i would sugest the x-change cd, but this is only my opinion based on what i have read.

The enhancer seems to give more trouble with third party devices such as memory cards and controlers, and can also cause the extra discs from multiple disc games not to boot

The x-change cd i believe would give far better results and this would be the one i would go for if i were not happy about an internal mod chip being fitted.
