To date I have made 2 successful copies and 4 coasters while trying to back up PSX games. Help would be appreciated.

The successful copies I have made were of PAL games that didn't need patching, and NERO copied them fine. The coasters were made when attempting to patch using PPF. My burner is not compatable with CDRWin (its a TDK Velocity 101232). I use CDRWin to create an image on my hard drive, and patch with PPF. I have then attempted to burn back with Fireburner (latest version) which locks up and doesn't think there is a disc in the PSX. I tried CloneCD and patched the .img file, with the same result as Fireburner. Finally I tried BlindRead/BlindWrite , but although this created a working disc, it was still in NTSF (ie patch did not work).

I have searched this forum, and Deano's site (which by the way is very good but his settings for Fireburner are for an older version which doesn't recognise my writer), but I am running out of ideas.

Help would be appreciated.

In these cases, Toy Story Racer (NTSF version - need PAL)

And it is a modded PSX. It plays NTSF but only in black and white (and some blue!) - even through SCART.

if you say that you can't get it working with Fireburner try burning TAO instaed of DAO as i can't burn successfully with it on DAO but when i change to TAO it works fine

MDE - on the black and white play point - I know it costs money, but an NTSC to PAL convertor from Maplins ought to sort the B&W problem for NTSC games. I know others have claim to have successfully patched such games to play properly on PAL without the gadget - but not me. So I bought the box. Saves the patching business.

Hope that helps
