Do i need a mod chip?

sorry if this has been asked too many times!....If i can make an exact 1:1 copy of a psx game using clone cd do i need a mod chip too to play it in my playstation?
That would suck if i do?...

i am afraid to say YES

or you will need an Exchange CD or a game cartridge otherwise your PSX console won't play back-ups.

Or you could try the old swap trick with one of the earlier psx models but remeber to buy spare motors cause they wont last long if you keep muckin about with them.

I have an earlier model....but what do you mean by swap trick?
I have a mod chip on mine, but I cannot play the new release or games w/the updated blocks.
What can I do?
