DDR Best Hits

For DDR Best Hits and Beatmania Best Hits, is there anything special I have to do to make backups?

Maybe a patch. my friend can't play the game without the anti-mod chip codes.

Yeah, I made a straight copy tonight but I get the red circle with the line through it when I try to play it. I have a PS2 with a Neo Key.

I guess I need a patch but there is not one listed specifically for DDR Best Hits. Any chance the original DDR patch would work?

I might be forced to buy a Game Shark 2 to play this darn game. That will do it, right?

OK, now I have a Neo Key and a Game Shark 2 but I still get the red circle with the line thru it when trying to play DDR Best Hits Import or Beatmania Best Hits!!!

What am I doing wrong?

Well... now I know that Neokey can't really bypass the mod protection, so I know that... why don't you try to do the Kog/knife swap trick instead? It might work better that way. And... did you do the Enable code with your gameshark 2? Chances are you need the Enable Code.
