View Full Version : ModChip suggestions for new PS2 user
Howdy! I'm new to this brd and new to the PS2 but a long time computer user and fairly handy with a soldering iron and CD burner. (don't have a DV buner yet, purchasing that soon)
I need some help choosing a ModChip for my new SCPH-35001, NTSC, Ser# U64..., Bro:1.20, CDP:1.20,PSD:1.10,DVD:1.30u. Suggestions please, *Thanks*

Go to www.modchipwarehouse.com and look at the neo 2.5 dvd version. You can play DVD backups as well as cdr back ups so its great and its only 33 dolars but you still need a game shark2 or action replay2

There is no method with the NEO2.x of which I know that allows DVDRs to be played with the v5 PS2.
To do that you'd need OrigaChip for US (####://www.origachip.com) which now has quite a US following and available from Lik-Sang. That's the only known way forward. Check with Origachip.com that the current method for booting DVDRs with the chip on a v5 is to use DVD Region X as the boot disk.
And what is the best one for a pal v5? Are you saying that neo 2,5 does not boot dvd's on v5 ps2? I have read that origa 1,25 does not work with pal v5, so what can I do?
Origa 1.25 is for JAP.
JKACK has posted that he can boot DVDRs on v5 with NEO2.5. I've asked him to explain how. I don't believe it can be done.
But Messiah Clone is the answer if you can get one. I got one a couple of days ago and it's being installed now.
