Newbie PS2 question [Archive]

I have a Japanese PS2 version scph-15000 with the 1.00 drivers. Can I play US PS2 games on this machine, is there something I need to do first. Also can I play US PS2 Game Backups on my machine.

For now U can just play US PS2 backups,
but U'll have to install a mod-chip 1st
