I dont know anything about the Demo discs that came with the PS2 as where I never got one even though I called them twice about it damn Sony well anyway you can use Devil May Cry,DOA2, or Grand Theft Auto 3 all 3 of them are quite large and good for swaping

Sorry, but Devil May Cry, ain't it a NSTC format game? does it work for a pal system?

The Devil May Cry demo disk that comes free with Resident Evil Code Veronica supposedly has the largest TOC of any PAL release. So in theory this disk should boot just about any DVDR available.

Y'all need a little FAQ type answer here.

With NEO2.x you need to use a special boot disk that was designed to do other things and that just happen to boot copy games as well. These are options are:

1/
Action Replay 2 which is intended to load cheat codes into a special dongle in a memory slot before hauling in the relevant original game. If you have a modchip, then you can haul in a backup having selected NO CODES. This works because the authors of AR2 have not implemented the region check on booting the backup while the modchip supplies the Region Code OK signal to the PS2.

2/
DVD Region X which is intended to facilitate the playing of DVD movies from different regions. But it will also boot a game instead. If you have a modchip, then it behaves like AR2 only the method is simpler.

3/
Memory Manager 16 which is intended to intialise the 16MB memory card before hauling in a game. If you have a modchip, then it behaves like AR2.

So that takes care of your CD backup games. The Demo Disk won't boot any backup games because it doesn't have the means of doing this.

Your DVD backup games are a different proposition. With the NEO chip the boot method known as the EA Boot Method is required to boot DVD-Rs. In your case you would need a PAL DVD Original game with a larger TOC than the DVD-R you have. However, the v5 PS2s don't have the wiring that allows the modchip to eject the disk tray so that you can make the double swap (AR2-->Original DVD-->Backup). So you have a problem there unless someone has found a way round it since I last replied on this forum.
