View Full Version : origa 1.25 probs
I installed the jap origa 1.25 in my model 10000 ps2, when I try to boot a psx euro or US cd or cdr it boots, but freezes after the psx logo.. also displays "euro" in the logo text, so it was detected right. if I boot a jap psx original, it'll boot just fine. PS2 imports boot to the "insert ps2 cd" screen. the wiring was checked several times, no shorts on the small chip either. any ideas?

hmmm.. I have a pretty good idea what it is. Origa was meant to play originals. If you want to play the backups. You just use DVD RegionX to boot. It should work fine. I heard that the 1.25 and the 10000 should work as a Universal Machine making you not need a bootdisk. It might be too good to be true. As a favor, is it possible for you to send me some pics of your wiring. I'm about to mod a 10000 as well. Send to
[email protected]! Thanks!!!
I actually tried to use originals too, not just backups.
I removed the chip completely by now, and will be bringing it to a shop for them to mod it.. there's a chance my chip is bad I guess, and if they mod it properly, I'll at least know it's the chip's fault, not my wiring. I can scan it after the mod is done, tho.

It really shouldn't be the chip. Maybe a rare case perhaps. Thanks for the scans. I need them for reference! Good luck on the chip!
I had it installed professionally, and it worked at the shop, but back at home (1 h drive), it does the same, but ps2 games work fine.. anyone got any ideas, like different timing, known fixes?
