Many people have posted regarding difficulties in backing up protected psx games eg Crash Bash using Philips based burners such as Freecom, Traxdata, Iomega etc.

I have a Freecom 8x4x32 and suffered the same problems - until now !

Use Cdrwin to create a bin file and patch it as usual.
Get a copy of Fireburner.
Run it and select "visual cue burner"
Drag the cue file you made with Cdrwin into the pane.
Right click and select "burn/test burn"
Select TAO (not DAO - this is important).
Burn your first ever copy of Crash Bash, CTR etc.

Feedback please !

I'd be suprised if burning games with the TAO selected would often work.

I'd like to see more feedback on this aswell!

I have a Phillips Cd -rw and still havent successfully burned a patched game using CDrwin or fireburner but I will give this DAO thing a go and get back to you.
Mind you though I very rarly have a problem copying using CDclone and I find it alot quicker.

I have a Philips burner and had a lot of problems with patched games (CTR, Crash Bash etc...).
For the moment I burn a my bin file on a CD/RW with CDRwin and than make a copy of the CD/RW with Copier Deluxe, only problem is than some videointro's have interverence, but I can play my backups. I have Fireburner but never used it, I will give this DAO/TAO a try. Thanks for the tip

The TOA option works just fine for me. I made another backup of Soulreaver and the videointro is perfect. Great tip guys.

CHRIS2000 - This may work with an HP if it is Philips based eg 8250i. Go to www.fireburner.com

WHALMIC - I have exactly the same burner and have no problems at all with any game. I use cheap Traxdata media. Could the original be damaged? Have you tried any other games?
