Hi, I have a question. I am kinda new to this modchip soldering thingy. I ordered a neo2 and I know what to do, but I don't know to which point of the pins I have to solder the wires to: the smaller bottom part or the wider upper part of the modchip's pins ? I think it's the wider upper part because the smaller part is too small but I just wanna make sure.

Thanks to anyone who wants to help me

what alot of people do is bend the pins flat and then cut off the smaller part. You can then tin and solder to the wider part.

Thanks very much for your reply. Do you also know how to install the 1uf capacitor to pin 2. I guess you just have to solder it too. Are you sure bending the pins won't damage the modchip ? Thanks for you reply. I really apreciate it !

If you are careful, bending the pins flat wont hurt anything. Just dont bend them back and forth, then something will probably break.

yep, just use a good pair of needle nose pliers and bend em flat to your desired position......and try to get them flat once.....like they said above : don't be bending back and forth or you just might break em.....

I usually staighten the pins with my fingers they arent so tough that i have to use pliers and you get a better feel. Also i cut the tiny part of the pins off with a pair of fingernail clippers for a neatter look and less chance of them making contact with a ground or any of the circuitry.
