Problems with CDRWIN... Please HELP

Ok heres the problem. I'm trying to burn Legend of Dragoon for playstation. I extract the image.bin file and apply the patch (which I have read on this board to be a good patch) When I recorded it to a blank cd (btw using CDRWIN) it says that it completed successfully.

But when I put it in my playstation it stays at the begining screen with a messed up playstation logo.

Now I know the first thing your thinking is that I put in a bad reg code. No I haven't. I've tried using versions 3.8c and 3.8d and on two serperate computers. Every one I have burned has basically been a coaster.

When I look at the cd in explorer it shows nothing but when I go into properties it reads exactly as the orginal.

Also I tried to burn another game tomb raider 3 that has no protection to see it it just might be the patch and nope it didn't work either.

I also tried Fireburner to put the patched image on a cd and it reads an error. and doesn't burn it.

Thanks for reading this long mess. I hope someone out there can help me.

I am taking it that you get the playstation screen without the playstation logo, A black screen that says sony computer entertainment america [or europe] but doesnt have the PS above the writing . If this is the case the only time this has happened to me was if i had a bad patch or tried to use the wrong patch on a game. try the patch at megagames.com. Good luck, Hope this helps!!

That is where I got the patch. I read through this message board and it says that the patch is good.

Plus when I tried to burn tomb raider 3 with no patch I got the same results.

Any other ideas?

Well if the problems arised with more than 1 game then it could be either -

The discs u r using r crap, sounds stupid but i know of some disks that are loose on the psx spindel and r hard to get working. Have u changed to a different brand of disk?

Or your actual modchip has cacked up. U didn't mention other copied games, is it just these 2 that are messing up or have u noticed problems in general?

Probably i am approaching the problem from completely the wrong angle, but there could be something going wrong down the psx end if the cds are copying ok.

neway, just a few suggestions but i hope they are of some help.

i had the same problem and i thought my mod chip was not working but it was the cd's, some models are very picky try using maxell cd-r74's they work perfect for me...goodluck

What kind of burner u got, Try updating the driver. If u got a scsi one update the driver 4 ur scsi card.

I have copied non protected games with CloneCD and they have worked fine. I have never got a good burn using CDRWin. I have a micro-solutions backpack 190130 cdrewriter.

I have also tried 4 different brands of cd's non of them have worked.

I don't think it is my playstation or my mod chip because other backups that I have made work fine.

Any other ideas?
