CD not spinning

My psx will not spin the disc. As soon as I close the lid it makes a fast clicking noise. It has a mod chip in it, but it was in for a while and worked with it in. Any help would be great. Thx

Have you tried to check inside your PSX ? Maybe some wire from the chip got loose and it needs to be solder again.

the last two playstation lasers i fixed was with a piece of cotton balled up tight to clean the lense. try it its worth a shot.and if that dont work go to www.playstation mods.com they have a few other fixes in their repair tab

what version of PSX you got as 100X were bad for lazer wear causing clicking on old models when the lazer was on its way out....just a thought to cheer you up!

I have the same problem It works sometimes but most of the time it doesn't. I have a psone (the newest one). It is brand new. I tried a new laser it was new also. I looked at the laser and there is nothing near it.
