Others have reported that their DVDRs of MGS2 won't play. So don't het your hopes up too high. As it happens, I have the OrigaChip which will play the import original of MGS2, which I now have.
Anyway, you'll need a PAL version of Dead on Arrival or Devil May Cry to boot in the DVDR copy of MGS2. I believe they have the same TOC size (there isn't anything available in PAL with a larger TOC of which I know). SO w are in the grey area of 4.3GB vs 4.3001GB, if you know what I mean.
Boot intsructions are on this forum posted in the last month by DUST2DUST. So search on that key.

The demo disk on Official PS2 magazine (No.14 December 2001) weighs in at 4.31G so in theory should work OK.
There's a list of DVD TOC's at ####://www.playstationmods.co.za/toc/
for all 3 regions,so I'd reference this first.
According to the site the 'Devil May Cry' demo disk included with Resident Evil CV has the largest TOC of all PAL PS2 DVD's, although theres no guarantee of how accurate these lists are.
Hope this helps.
