Could anyone give me some information on backing up my ps2 games, i.e., what programme and media to use.

if you have the ntsc ps2 then you wil have a utiliy disk to boot the psx2 then you need to patch the game with something like CDRWIN.

If you have the pal version then you need to buy a modchip at £25.00 and an action replay cartridge at £29.99. It will soon be possible to have a disk that boots without buying the replay cartridge, few weeks away yet though. You will still need the Neo2 modchip though.

Am i right to say that i just burn pal ps2 games the same way as i do pal ps1 games???
are the games zoned like dvds?

you need to goto playstationmods.com they will either supply or fit for you if you get intouch with them a NEO2 chip with a gameshark disk which you use to boot your PS2 with then simply select start game press eject because at this point the boot disk has stopped spinning then put in backup press X and hey presto your backup loads easy or what
