can anyone help me with the following :
i have got three different playstations to try my back-ups on and they all come up with different results,
all three playstations have been chipped and i am using a yamaha 4416s writer with clonecd and verbatim 80 mins cds. one playstation wont play some of them at all, one will only play some if you turn the playstation on its side or upside down and the other will play most of them but then if youtake it back out and put it back in again it comes up with please insert disk ?
these problems seem to happen at random with any of the playstations even on games that i have had for ages, somebody told me that the reason was the laser on the playstation was worn but one of the playstations is only 2 weeks old and has only been chipped for 2 days.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

It could very well be the laser. Also when you chip the console you open it up and mess with stuff inside...an essential part might of been tipped, moved or damaged....you never know since all these electronics are so delicate. I had a friend who chipped his playstation and not only didnt it not play copied games afterwards, it didnt even play originals unless the console is turned upside down.

Thanks for the reply disposable_teens it hasn`t solved my prob. but at least you tried
i think it could be a software prob or the type of cds i am using to make copys on. Most people seem to say that Verbatim are the best cds to use but i tried cheap ones before and i was having about the same ratio of coasters with them, One other thing that i am wondering if you can help me with is :
on clonecd it sometimes says when writing check the dont repair the sub channel data box, but this box is always blocked from choosing. is there any way that i can get this box to open up ?
any further help would be appreciated

Sorry, have no idea.
My Phillips CD-RW drive doesnt work with CloneCD.

The options on CloneCD are only available if your CD Writer is 100% compatible!!
I have the same problem!!!

Check out the CloneCD website for a list of compatible Writers
