View Full Version : What kind of patch should I use to backup my ps2 cd games?
My problem is that my cd writer is not compatible with cdclone's subchannel writing so I can't use it to backup ps2 games. Then I think that I should patch the games by using cdwin, but I do not know which kind of patches I have to use and where to find them. Moreover, I would like to know if I can do copies from other backups and which program shoul I use. (for example: I have a gta3 backup, how can I copy it without using cd clone?)
Then you have a serious problem on two fronts :

Patching is a hit and missi affair. You might find the right patches at megagames.com but for newer games you won't for some time and they'll be on DVD anyway.

GTA3, for example, doesn't have any patches other than to fix the problem of getting it working in the first place. So any subchannel data will not be carried forward on your kit.
To save yourself a long hard time with patches, do get a CloneCD compatible burner for RAW-DAO+96 on both read and write.
Thanks for the reply Charlie!
