I have backed up a couple games using memorex cd-r cd's and they work but a couple of the games want to lock up sometimes and skip sometimes so I'm not sure if its the cd's or not. I know a couple of the games were scratched so I know its to be expected for those to skip but what about the ones that are not scratched?

Any suggestion?
Thanks

don'y use cheap cdr's for the psx. the psx has a cheap laser, and does not like crap cdr's

i would never use memorex or imation cdr's as they are usually made by cmc magnetics, which make crappy cdr's.

use name brand, and don't burn higher than 4x - 6x

tdk certified plus
fuji's 80 min. made in japan (not made in taiwan)
verbatim datalifes (valuelife's are not good i hear)
ricoh (can't find these anymore)
sony's

Darker is better. Try to find CDR's with dark bottoms. The Playstation laser will read it better.

I've found Memorex to not be as reliable as they seem unless you burn at 1x speed and make sure they have a silver/blue color! I highly recommend using "Gigastorage" cd's, they are 700megs with a silver/blue bottom, I've never had any trouble with them no matter what speed I used to burn. Here in Canada, you can get a pack of 10 for $7.99. Perfect price! Hope this helps you out.

I use Vertbatim datalife plus. No problems at all. I usually get the 20 pack and is fairly cheap.
