I Need help getting very pissed at trying to patch games!

I recently rented Legend of Dragoon 4CD's. It's protected so I got the right patch file and used ppfomatic to apply the patch it said it was applied successfully now you may burn etc. So I burned the CD using CDRWIN, then I went to go play the game nothing happened it reads it as a AUDIO cd. What am I doing wrong and do the patches even work and if they do whats the proper way of doing it. And is it possible to apply patches to NERO image files instead of using CDRWIN? I would really appreciate the help thanks.

I hav'nt used patching for a long while because some of them are bad cracks, have you checked if anybody has patched this and got a working backup. Also it is poss to burn a cdwin image with nero.One last thing check your chip is working aswell you might have a loose wire or something.Hope ive given you some ideas i know how frustrating it can be mate.

Have you checked cdrwin ? A bad cracked version will just burn coasters !!! :) Good to put your beer on :)

the two people above made some good points. NEVER try to crack CDRWin. i have tried serveral cracks and have just wound up with more coasters. if you have tried to crack it, uninstall it, reinstall it, and deal with having to click on the pop-up windows. you do not want to burn psx games at 8X anyway, so be just leave it as a demo version. also, MODchips can heat up, and if they are not soldered solidly, they can come loose of the board.

however, i have successfully patched all 4 cds of LoD. i used CDRWin 3.8C (whichever version is the latest), and the patch on the megagames site. the file was produced by Paradox (PDX), includes a PAL/NTSC selector, 3 trainers (cheats), and the all important MODchip protection fix. the file size is 276kB, so you can see if you have the right one.

i do not know if you can apply patches to NERO images. in the PPF documentation it only mentions CDRWin, so i would stick with that. i have burned multitudes of games, and CDRWin has NEVER let me down.
