First off an enormous thank you in advance...

Setting: Taipei, Taiwan. An American in a city of nearly six million people with some of the most beautiful women I've ever seen...yet I'm compelled to sit in front of a PS2 and play video games.

Situation 1: A friend from the States sends me Madden 2002 upon request. I purchase and Origa v1.2 (three days before the jokers release the v1.25...argh...probably a month after they release the v2.0 which will probably be a wonderful thing...double argg.) and take it to a local tech head. I show him the diagrams on the Origa website...he politely declines on the work because he can't tell which way the capacitor is supposed to go in.
That is, the capacitor is three pronged with some writing on one face and the lovely beige of capacitors on the other.
-(yes I've already written Origa people but thought that the wisdom flying around on this board might be good to tap as well.)-
So does anyone have any experience putting in the capacitor on these boards?, and if so do you have any inkling as to the correct installation of the capacitor? The diagram on the Origa sight is a little lacking...

Situation 2: My tech head friend here was also a bit miffed by the idea that all I had to was pop in the DVD Region X Jap cd and then swap to the Original Import Game and play. He was showing me this AR2 thing as well as a different DVD RegionX CD that came with some sort of memory card (I think, slight possibility it was some USB plug in but I don't think so) plug in thing that people were using to play back up copies. He didn't seem to think the Region X disc that I had was going to work....(He was suggesting the AR2 and not necessarily the Region X with the memory card plug in).

Any help on clearing up either of these situations would be a wonderful help.

Thank you,

OralB

ANSWER: Yeah right. Take advantage of the time between now and when you get the Origachip installed! And don't do it sideways - the OrigaChip that is.

ANSWER: Call Michael on 01485 570256. He doesn't know I've provided the telephone number of Madeira Games, but he installed mine and presumably knows and MIGHT help you out. Please then publish his answer.

ANSWER: I use DVD Region X without the memory card. I doubt that the memory card is an obstacle. But if when you've got the OrigaChip in the DVDRX with dongle doesn't work, get one without because that does work. Like AR2/GS2 and Memory Manager Plus, DVDRX boots legally and then sits there waiting for your next move. If that happends to be a DVD, it plays it; if that happens to be a game, it loads it (backups included with the aid of your modchip).
