I just purchased FF9 the day it came out, and when I went to back it up, as I do all of my other games, just in case i sctratch the cd. I use CDrWin, and I make a bin/cue file, with the RAW sectors, so it would make a 1:1 copy, but when i go to play it in my old PSX SCPH-1001, it boots up, and then goes to this weird looking Sony black screen with 2 X's and a weird sony logo. I have no idea whats wrong!

Has anyone else tryed backing up this game, and if so were you successful? Please E-mail me!

Where did you find a patch for Disc 1? All I can find on megagames.com were PAL/NTSC converters. Does this game even have any protection? How did you even backup the first CD? Please explain!

What is up with everyone having trouble with FFIX?

I have the original and a backup copy. I use the original on my PS2, and yes i have tried it on my PSX to make sure it wasn't modprotected.

I made the backups with CD-Rwin3.8c. I popped it in to my PSX and it worked just fine. I loaded as if nothing was wrong and the game plays.

What are you guys using to image the CD's? The best way to go is to use CD-Rwin3.8c. I use max read, unreadable = ignore, and i burn at 8x with my Ricoh.

I hope this clears up some of the problems you guys are having.
