which programm is the for copying psx games? does cloneCD work?
Which mod chip is the best? Which (sorry, i donīt know the word) parameters on which programm do i have to turn on?
I heard that cloneCD makes a 1:1 copy of any game so why do i need a patch? And whatīs the swap trick? Never heard of it.
Do games work without a patch?
Which CDR do i have to use, 650 MB or 700 MB?
I know this are many questions but i hope that someone has time to answer them.
Thanks for your answers (i hope i get some).

OK lets tackle these one by one
first...there is no 1 best program to copy a psx game, i have done it with many programs. i prefer cdrwin and psx copywith those 2 programs i never have problems..(unless the source cd is scratched..and even then psx copy will still finish it)..you also have to keep in mind that we all have different systems with different specs so all the software wont run the same, im only able to tell you what works for me and "should" work for you.
if you are using cdrwin or psx copy, you don't need to set parameters, they are ready to go ..for the most part.
with psx game, i have never had one that was over 650mb so stick with that, and i use either sony or memorex cds when i back up games. there are many kinds of cdrs and for some reason the psx system is picky..sometimes it will read the cd sometimes it will goto the blue screen. i deal with this all the time when my customers bring back cds and i show them it works on my system.
now in my experience the very best cd i have ever used was the KODAK GOLD those never failed to be read by any psx system, for some reason they are hard to find now..these cdrs were pure gold on the bottom, not that greenish colored crap they have now. (if anyone knows where to find those KD golds please let me know)
your mod chip question...well i use the 4 wire mod chip (6 wire on psones), the reason is i find they work best...(aside from being easy..)
the stealth chips cost more are harder to install and are not 100%
a swap trick is an old technique used only on first generation playstations, where you would put in a original game and when it got to the black screen, quickly take out the original and put in your import or back-up cd. sony has since fixed that , so you can no longer do it, aside from the fact if you had one of those first gen systems you would be dealing with more frustration than pleasure.
do games work without a patch...
yes they can only
1 you have the original and the system is not modded.
2 the system is modded with a working stealth chip that the game doesn't detect.
3 you use a gameshark or pro action replay code
as far as clone cd...you have to have a burner that is fully compatible with the program or it just wont work well, i have 3 burners here and none of them work fully with clone cd
i hope i helped out some...
