is it possible to just directly copy dc backups with cd copy or some program similar to it?

Nero or Disc Juggler (some use CDRWin or other program) should make perfect copies of backups on most systems, so long as you copy the disc to an IMAGE on your hard drive, FIRST. Then burn the image to your new CD.
