how do you d/l from an ftp site using cuteftp ? it never works no matter what the site i put in

If you're using a broadband connection with either a broadband router or a firewall (and some DSL connections), you may need to set FTP PASV mode to ON. Some software calls it "PASSIVE FIREWALL FTP" or similar.

im tryin to do it on my computer using internet explorer if u cant please explain to me how

The PASV setting in IE is found by going to:

Tools/Internet Options

Choose the "Advanced" tab and scroll down just before the heading entitled "#### 1.1 settings". About two or three check boxes above that will be a setting that says:

"Use Passive FTP for compatibility with some firewalls and DSL modems" <---Check this.

I can't guarantee that this will fix your downloading problem, but it helps in some situations where you're behind a firewall, using DSL or Cable modem, or a NAT (Network Address Translation device) such as a DSL/Cable Router.
