What Nero settings should I use to back up games.

Disc-At-Once

That's the only setting you really need.

I did what you said and it didn't work. The game just stops at the dreamcast screen and doesn't do a damn thing. And it won't boot up with utopia. Any other suggestions?

What game/app are you trying to burn that has a .NRG extension? Only one I know of is Utopia's BootDisc.

I've got 2 different ones, Crazy Taxi 2 and Virtua Tennis

I have no idea, it seems a little strange, but its a nero image

Screw tennis and taxi, theyre both shitty games. Use your logic, if you can get .cdi to work but not .nrg then why the hell are you still trying to burn two crappy games with nero? Delete those worthless shits off your hd and find some different games in cdi format. It'll save everyone, including you, a lot of time.

Maybe Tennis is a crappy game, but I think your value assessment of Crazy Taxi 2 might be open for debate. I think it's a pretty good game when I'm looking for some "balls-to-the-wall" crazy driving action. It's much better than the original Crazy Taxi - as it has some new tricks you can do.

Well Wayne, I see you've jumped completely over my point and only noticed the unimportant part of my post. What I was trying to say was that, if I supposedly got DiscJuggler to work for him without any errors then why is he trying to burn DC games in the subpar format of Nero. From my knowledge nearly 95% of all DC game rips are in CDI format. There is absolutely no reason for him to bother with Nero when DJ works perfectly fine. He should re-download both of those (not so good) games in CDI and delete their NRG counterparts, that way he wont have to ask all those "stupid newbie" Nero questions.

Also to note, Nero (.NRG) images are not self-bootable, so you would need a boot disc to play both of those if you burned it in Nero format.

Majin, VTennis rocks the ass too! ;)

TheMaskedm0m0, Would like 2 know wdy mean with the "Nero (.NRG) images are not self-bootable" sentence....

As for my personal preferences, I convert all the CDIs to NRGs, so I have all my games self-bootable and Nero-compliant.

Not sure how, but NRG's are NOT self bootable.. If you convert all CDIs to NRG (cdi2nero), and are self-bootable, I would be surprised.

If I get a game that is in any format other than CDI, I usually convert it to a BIN/CUE and use bin2boot to make it self bootable.

NRG's can b self bootable if u convert the cdi file using that cdi to nero program as thats what i use to burn all my games. Just b sure yur using nero 5.+ or else they wont b self bootable:-)

You're wrong. The first reply to your message was your answer: "DISC AT ONCE"

I never bothered to change any of the settings in Nero, but I suppose the following are most optimal in preventing a coaster:

CD-ROM (ISO) ---> No Multisession

Ignore everything in File Options

Burn - Check: Write, Finalize CD and DAO

Keep everything else the way it was.
