I've checked dc copyworld for the utopia boot disk that could bypass the protection seals on the october 2000 dc's. but I cant tell the difference between the one I need and the one that bypasses the protection seal. Does any one know whitch is whitch?

if you promise me that you
first !!!
use a burned game which is burned on a GOOD
blank , f.e VERBATIM and if you know
that this game works in an elder console 100%
then give me a note and i will send you
a rebuilt utopia vor newer models .....
everyone i sent that booty ,never knew if their burned games worked in elder consoles ...
so they themselfes never kne if the reason it
hasnt worked was a burning mistake or
a bad blank or whatelse ,....

there i an easy way to make them selfboot too
a tutorial for that was posted here a while ago ,..

only difference to elder models seems to be that
the main loding process (from the dc logo
appearing untill finally game loading)
is delayed up to a minute ,..it seems to freeze
but then continues like normal ,...thats all ,...

this could be also a reason those dudes thought
the new utopia doesnt works ,cuze they mabe
never waited for that continuing ,

mabe scorpion can repost the tutorial
if you ask for that ....

Oh...

Whoops, sorry Thades.

...forgot to answer >(

You should get any version of Utopia Boot CD that is 1.1 or above, its bound to work. The only difference between the 2 versions is just the VGA patch included with the second one, so it shouldnt make any difference anyway.

Thades, I had the same problem that you're having.... (my post and a reply is further down the chain) I used 4 programs to rip a .cdi image, and put it back together again in a self boot that my december model DC would read.... upon doing that once, I packed up my DC, took it to an independant video game retailer. I took the $85 canadian he gave me for the system and three crappy games, and bought an older model DC... PROBLEM SOLVED :) You might want to think about doing that, rather than ripping your hair out trying to get games to work in your system... just a suggestion :)
