pot-meter. i damaged it?

Please help me. I turn pot-meter about 1/4 clockwise but it didn't work. now I went back 1/4 to the left but the dreamcast doesn't read any cd. answer for [email protected] please.
Ah if i turn pot-meter about 1/4 clockwise the dreamcast continues not to read any cd!! did it damage the dreamcast? and now? I already lost the warranty! what i make? please help me
