View Full Version : what is "srep_new"?
I saw that repacker seleZen used this in his repack of GTA IV complete edition - which went from 32,283,105,702 to 13,842,608,305 bytes. The only thing different he's using is this "srep_new" - if I compress just the audio of his repack, it's almost the final size of his repack.
So what method is he using?
srep_new = Classic srep. Small difference then original Bulat compiled releases, the new "SR" icon. The 4.90g WIP the newest "silently" released version in few months ago from publicly.
GTA4: Try this (from one BIG archive): bpk+xtool:mzlib (or preflate or old xZLib)+msc(tak)+srep+lolz
or separetadly compress files in filetypes... (ex: *.bik: bpk+srep+lolz)

What's the explanation for his (seleZen) GTA 4 Complete Edition repack being so small... could it be lolz that is different from the lolz that was published by profrager?
The compressed size written above is only for the basic (Russian) language package? I found a release with version "1.2.0.43" after a quick search.
In addition to the Redist files, it contains these files:
setup.exe (4.09MB)
Data1a-01.slzn (just probably FreeArc or RAR/7-Zip archive.)
That's 12.8GB.
Plus, the files containing the "English" language: (the English files are created using patches with xdelta3, from the Russian language files, if I remember correctly.)
ENG_L.exe (InnoSetup)
ENG_L-1/2.bin (1.95GB+568MB)
The password for the "Setup.dll" in the installer is: selezen132
Filelist:

Interestingly, MSC was not used, at least there is no sign of it. (There are references to AFR019 and MTX and XDelta3 deep in the installer's Pascal code.)
LOLZ is the same one that is available to anyone.

I did this 2 years ago. Things might have changed, not sure.

but how can that be? If when I compress (lzma2) only the audio (.rpf) is almost 13gb?
Is it because I didn't use srep first?
I compressed the .rpf using 7-zip, just for testing...
From what I remember rpf files contain only audio files, like wav and mp3, so you have to use msc
the larger size was because I wasn't using srep. my final repack size is 13.1GB.
