I have a feb. 2000 dreamcast, so it wont play back ups?

The earliest release I've heard of that doesn't work is OCTOBER-2000. I've got a JUNE-2000 and it works fine.

If you meant FEB-2001, it probably won't work with backups.

nope it says feb. 2000 (good news for me)
