hey guys. Was looking at some different file types from 2 different games and noticed XCOM2 has bk2 videos and games like syberia and the witcher have .bik videos. i know how to encode bik, but could someone tell me if there is a tool or a legal free method to encode bk2 to/from the usual video formats - avi, mp4, mov, mkv etc as in, bk2 to mp4, mp4 to bk2 etc - i know rad tools can convert bik movies but is there a way to convert and edit bk2 video files without having to pay 5000 bucks for a bink 2 sdk? i know some of you out there have successfully encoded bk2 movies for games like WWF Smackdown and so on.
please post back, i would like to know how to convert a .BK2 to a different format, edit it then reconvert because as far as i know, encoding a bk2 with the bink 1 encoder then renaming the output file extension to .bk2 will cause the game that uses bink 2 videos to crash when reinserted back into the game.

thanks, catch you on the flip side.

i just chage it to .bk2 before re encoding
if you are running a batch
open a notepad and paste the contents of a radbatch into it.
then click edit then click replace from the drop down menu
in (find what) type bik in (replace with) type bk2..
then simply click (replace all)
it will then replace all the .bik with .bk2..
(makes it alot easier than renaming all the files one by one)
paste the edited contents into the radbatch make sure
everything is completely deleted from the batch to avoid errors..
once you do that it will encode them under bk2.
i have done this many times never has failed me

if that fails i have included a bink encoder by panker1992
