can anyone make a 1 DVD5 tutorial for multi or only one language (german)??

Looks like Installshield, so im sure someone will change the msi files to accomodate at 2xDVD5 conversion.

Edit: skip down a few posts for peterf1999s working install. This one has problems with the install rolling back at the end.

Create two temp folders, named BORDERLANDS_1 and BORDERLANDS_2 which will also be the labels of the discs.

1. Copy the contents of the DVD to BORDERLANDS_1
2. Move setup7 to setup11 from BORDERLANDS_1 to BORDERLANDS_2
3. Copy autorun.inf and Borderlands.ico from BORDERLANDS_1 to BORDERLANDS_2
4. Edit autorun.inf in BORDERLANDS_2 to look like the following:

open=0
icon=Borderlands.ico
5. Extract the contents of the archive to BORDERLANDS_1, overwriting the files.

Burn the folders(or make images first and test) using the folder names as the labels.

English install tested and working for me, the other msi files have been edited but not tested(they should work).

Install order DVD1-DVD2-DVD1. There is a delay between DVD2-DVD1(30 to 60 seconds).

A single dvd5 is beyond my capabilities atm.

I'm not sure you can remove 2GB from this game in any case. I can only see 700MB you can remove unless you want to remove the movies as well(the movies are language independent and you'd likely have to sit through 5 minutes of audio with no video at the beginning).

anyway to stop the installer from executing the exe at the end? It just detects that its not a geuine dvd and rollbacks the whole thing.

That's odd. The installer finishes fine for me. Maybe this is because I installed it then uninstalled it to make the conversion.

I know my firewall blocked the connection the first time it tried to activate, maybe swap the original in when this happens for you for the activation.

Borderlands Multi 5 (DVD9 to 2xDVD5)
Install sequence DVD1-DVD2-DVD1

1) Create temp folders

'BORDERLANDS_1'
'BORDERLANDS_2'

2) Copy DVD9 contents to 'BORDERLANDS_1'

3) Move Setup5.cab-Setup11.cab to 'BORDERLANDS_2'

4) Copy Borderlands.ico from 'BORDERLANDS_1' to 'BORDERLANDS_2'

5) Create autorun.inf in 'BORDERLANDS_2':

open=0
icon=Borderlands.ico

6) Extract 'Borderlands.7z' contents to 'BORDERLANDS_1'

7) Open MSIs files (one at a time) with orca or appeditor, import & replace all tables (Tables.7z) and then save overwriting the MSI file

8) Burn or make ISOs with same labels name of temp folders

Note: Shortcut table for XP users, on Win 7 & Vista the game's installer doesn't use it
(However, even Win 7 & Vista users can use it if they want)

peter's good enough to post these guides.. why not get the program yourselves and follow his instructions.. do you need to be spoonfed everything... learn how to use the program and try it out yourself first. all it takes is a little time.

its possible, but its insane it requires freearc, recompression of almost all cabs,
injecting a lot of dummy files.
