Lan With The First AOE2

I have a Lan (network). I have fully installed Aoe2 on all computers (3). {It was the full install with with the no-cdfix.} When friends come over, I can never get the game to work! I look for the LAN game that I just created and it does not show up on the other computers. What am I not doing or doing wrong?

I don't know what you have done, but I have found the most common problem with this to be differant versions of the game, or more probably network protocols.
(network properties in windows) ;make sure all machines are running the same protocols (add them if theyre not) TCP/IP seems to be the best (you say 3 machines so you are using network cards and a hub right? - if using a serial cable, you'll need IPX instead)
In the game it'self, go; "multiplayer", "network LAN (TCP/IP)", and then give them a few seconds to find it (can take up to 30)
-when the protocols are set it should work, it's worth doing a "find computer" on every machine, making sure that they can all see each other.
I hope this helps, let me know if it's still not working
